Abstract

Zimbabwe, just like many other developing countries, engages and participates in various regional trade arrangements (RTAs) as a key strategy towards export-led growth. This paper sought to establish the medium to long-range economic implication of Zimbabwe joining the Tripartite Free Trade Area (TFTA). The empirical evidence showing that a more open trade regime (under the TFTA) contribute more to aggregate economic growth, led to the conclusion that Zimbabwe has only more to gain from joining and participating in the TFTA.
